 THE DALWOOD COMMUNITY SHOP

& POST OFFICE

The shop opened in 2001 and is entirely owned and run by volunteers. The building was created by rebuilding and extending existing garages owned by EDDC The work was again undertaken by volunteers and with the help of grants. Earlier this year the shop was repainted and new shelves installed.

There is a wide range of stock from apple juice to washing liquids plus an Off Licence. Apart from wines and spirits local Lyme Bay Vintage and Scrumpy Cider is sold. A good selection of water, soft drinks and sweets are also available. Bread, cakes, milk, eggs, meat and honey are all sourced locally.

The Post Office is open on Friday morning from 10 - 12.

In 2011 the shop was one of 4 regional finalists in the Village Shop category for the Countryside Alliance Awards Scheme.

We all appreciate the attractiveness of our village and if you are looking for some souvenirs of your day the shop stocks postcards, bags and T Towels. There is a selection of delicious biscuits beautifully packaged with a picturesque image of the brook and the bridge.

For your return visit (we hope) why not pick up a free Circular Walking Map. The 6 walks start and finish at the Pub and cover some beautiful areas around the village including the National Trust site Loughwood Meeting House and Burrow Farm Gardens.

Whatever you do we hope you have a very enjoyable day with some happy memories
